A negative marking calculator computes your net score by multiplying your correct answers by the mark per question and subtracting the negative penalty for incorrect answers. Formula: Net Score = (Correct × Marks) - (Incorrect × Penalty).

A 1/4 (or 0.25) negative marking means 25% of a question's mark value is deducted for every incorrect response. For example, in a 4-mark question (NEET/JEE), the penalty is 1.0 mark; in a 2-mark question (SSC Tier 1), the penalty is 0.50 marks; and in a 1-mark question (Banking), it is 0.25 marks.

A 1/3 (0.33) negative marking deducts one-third of the assigned mark for an incorrect answer. In UPSC GS 1 (2-mark question), 0.666 marks are deducted; in UPSC CSAT (2.5-mark question), 0.833 marks are deducted; and in SSC Tier 2 (3-mark question), 1.0 mark is deducted.

In NEET UG, each correct answer earns +4 marks and each wrong answer deducts -1 mark. Formula: Net Score = (Correct × 4) - (Incorrect × 1) out of 720 marks. Unattempted questions carry zero penalty.
